the sooner we pick a day, the sooner we can start organizing and promoting it.

we can always use money for things. saying we don't need to make any money is simply not true. people are willing to pay a cover for a moderately good cause and for entertainment. roller derby bouts are $10 for godzilla's sake.

i think we should focus on this and non-profit incorporation concurrently. as we proceed with the paperwork, we will see what fees need to covered and could use fundraiser money for that.

my idea for a cover: if sideshow will accept, we collect a $3 cover, and give everyone a raffle ticket. polo players will get free cover and raffle tickets if they enter the tournament. raffle prizes could include extra tournament tshirts (further promoting sponsors both local or not), fixcraft or tree swag, GC's for free tune-ups at walts, etc. we could draw winners between bands, have band members get into it and so on.

i really like the idea of goldsprints in the other room. if we can convince KC sprints to come out, even if we pay him, it would make it awesome. kararoke seems less exciting and cycling specific to me...

as for bands, a hairhole affiliated band would get a certain crowd out, but i dont have as much contact with them as i used to. Moonrunner always draws a crowd, but i may be the only one who has ever been to one of their shows... i still think bands get people more excited to come party than DJs most of the time, provided they are the right bands..

as for the ragtag idea; showing a movie/clips and having a dance party after, i think it sounds great, but a different idea than a party at sideshow. if we go ahead with the sideshow idea and it goes well, we could use our funds and clout with sponsors to plan another party/fundraiser for later in the summer.
