we're set up to use the border patrol again at the BWWW kickoff event at flat branch park. is anyone available to transport it? Also this year it is combined with the fitness is fun parks and rec event and is wednesday evening. it'll be just like pickup, but with less cursing. if it gets too dark to play we can pick it up and move it to the garage.

Start time is 6 p.m., according to the thread's title. Any idea what grounds we'll use at the park? Will we have a stretch of 5th street? Go bike yourself. |

And would we have to pay the $93 again? Or did the city cover it? If the city pays, transports and tears down then I'd do it. But I have a feeling we're expected to do everything. Thoughts Charlie? Go bike yourself. |

For real. If I was going to pay $100 to rent something to make me look good it would be a tux or maybe an ugly person for a friend. We should not keep shelling out our cash for other people's events. $100 could keep us fed/boozed all day at Cosmo (where we can play for free with no set up) My 2\cents on the Border Patrol P.S. Didn't keyboards used to have a \cent key? Making this shitshow look good since 2008 |

Like I said this was my 2\cents. If you think I should have no opinion that is your prerogative, but I do have a right to an opinion on the direction of the club. And if the direction of the club is to pay money so our friend's events look less pathetic, I am going to continue to raise my concerns. We used to do public appearances with the boards from the garage. They were closer to downtown but less professional and the only cost was for the original construction. However if what you say is true that the city is loaning us the boarder patrol for free and we just have to pick it up, that is great. But maybe if we got the boards from Tim A's garage, we might have enough to play like we did last year. On a side note: I won't be in town this night so expect only my heckling from afar. Also I never heard: Was the "event" a success? Making this shitshow look good since 2008 |

the city's providing the rink for us. if we can't pick it up, they'll "see if there's a way [they] can find to get it there". but we should let them know asap. the boards from the garage/tim a's garage suck, and also require us to move them. floppy i remember when you played polo, and i feel like your opinion carried more weight back then... if there's really not enough interest to do this, i can let them know, but its a good way to get on the good side of the parks and rec dept and pednet, and we've played at the event for the past two years. also, it gets us seen, which cosmo and the garage don't. i feel like i brought this event up in feb. when they first contacted me and everyone was stoked about it. maybe i imagined this. also, last sat. i paid five dollars to play polo all day in a public place on a halfway decent court. i'd call that a success. |

Ask the city to do it. If not, then I'm sure our truck and van drivers can step up again. I can help load/unload any time that day. I'm leaving for Bloomington when Kruse wants to. Go bike yourself. |

So this is only from 6pm to 8pm...and they're blocking off 4th St. I'm guessing this means at like 7:45 we're going to be told to break it down so they can reopen the road at 8pm, right? If that's the case, I'm probably not even going to bother trying to bust my ass to get there when I get off work at 7PM. I hate not having the garage to play in...like really really bad. The more I think about it, the less likely I would come anyway. I have a lot of shit to do/get before we leave on Friday, and very little time to do it. I may not come on the ride tonight for the same reason. Black Sheep, Bike Polo Ronin, Satanic High Priest |
