Based on that response, I'm guessing BMX jumped directly from 1" threaded to 1 1/8" threadless? With MTBs, there was a transition period...as it seems having a beefed up steerer/fork was deemed more important than the headset/stem interaction. Black Sheep, Bike Polo Ronin, Satanic High Priest |

To be honest, I have no clue. The one thing I do remember after the "change" was that my stem and headset didn't rattle around any more. That reason alone left me pumped. But it doesn't suprise me that larger diameter threaded steerer tubes are out there...STILL! |
